Judith is a married woman. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is household items.
She has operated an open-air food selling business, selling from home to local residents. She faces a major challenge of seasonality, especially during the rainy season when it becomes hard for her to operate her business. Her goal is to establish a restaurant business in the future.
With the 20,000 Kenyan shillings, she wants to purchase cooking utensils, rice and wheat flour for her business. She decided to join Yehu because it supports small businesses.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
