Rose is a widow with five children, all of whom graduated from school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is household items.
For over three years, she has operated a vegetable stall business, selling from home to her local residents. She faces the challenge of seasonality in her business. Rose dreams of establishing a greengrocery business in the near future.
With the Kshs 15,000 she wants to purchase sacks of green vegetables, tomatoes, onions and potatoes.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
