Fatu S. is 46 years old and lives in New Kru Town, one of the early communities in Liberia; it is well-known in Liberia. She is married and has four children, aged between 12 and 27, who are presently in school and live at home. She was unable to attend school.
For the past 10 years, she has been running a shop where she sells fashion cloth. She joined into business because she was unfortunate to not attend school. She started this business by selling on a market table, which lead to fashion cloth, and she learned this way of selling from her friends. She is very happy with her business because she makes a lot of profit and it keeps her busy. Most interestingly, she learned those different kinds of local languages. She is requesting a loan to buy more fashion cloth to increase her business. Her plans are to expand her business and educate her children.
