The Alogojesuton 3 group is composed of 23 individuals living in the same neighborhood. It is the second time that the group is seeking financial support of ALIDC”e in order to expand its business. The group’s representative, by the name of Félicité, is the one raising her hand in the photo. Félicité is 61 years old and lives in Benin. She did not attend school. Her husband’s name is Jonas. They have four children, all of whom [have attended] school.
The spouses jointly provide for various household needs. In order to contribute to various expenses, for 10 years Félicité has been selling fabric and bags through a distribution system. She stocks up in one of the regions of Benin as well as in Togo. With the goal of meeting customer demand and increasing her sales volume and her revenues, Félicité, together with the other members of the Alogojesuton 3 group, is seeking a second loan from ALIDe. The first loan has been duly repaid.

Le groupement ALOGOJESUTON 3 est composé de vingt trois personnes qui vivent dans le même quartier. C'est la deuxième fois que ce groupement sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de son activité. La représentante de ce groupement, du nom de Félicité est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Félicité est âgée de 61 ans et vit au Bénin. Félicité n’a pas fréquenté l’école. Félicité est mariée à un certain Jonas. Le couple a quatre enfants tous scolarisés. Le couple assure ensemble les diverses charges de la maison. Afin de contribuer aux diverses charges, Félicité vend depuis dix ans, des tissus et des sacs par le système de distribution. Félicité s’approvisionne dans une région du Bénin et aussi au Togo. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaire et son revenu, Félicité sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupement ALOGOJESUTON 3, un deuxième crédit auprès de ALIDé. Le premier prêt a été bien remboursé.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
