Bernardo
Bernardo is married and the father of 2 children who go to School. He lives in a house he owns with his family and doesn't support anyone else.

He's a teacher and a permanent employee of the Ministry of Education. With this loan he plans to buy construction materials (iron, metal sheets, cement, sand, blocks and others) to continue to build the extension on his home.

In future Bernardo hopes to acquire a form of transport to help him get to and from work. To this end he commits to duly paying off the loan so that he can solicit further loans from Hluvuku.

His challenge is to work harder in order to improve his family's quality of life.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
