Sana Group
In this Group: Pakeeza, Sana
Sana is a 26-year-old responsible mother of three children. She is living in Rawalpindi, Pakistan with her husband and children. Her husband is a janitor in a hospital but his salary is not enough to meet the family's household expenses. He wants to start his own rickshaw business.
As a member of a two-person group, Sana has requested a loan from Kiva’s partner BRAC Pakistan. Her husband would purchase a rickshaw from the loan amount and he would drive the rickshaw at night while keeping his present job. In this way, his monthly income would be increased and they would be able to send their children to schools.Sana is very hopeful for this loan and she is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
