Patterson is 65 years old, married and a father of six children. For the last 10 years, he has earned a living by selling farm produce in Mpeketoni, Lamu. He earns a monthly profit of KES 15,000. Patterson was introduced to KADET LTD by a credit officer, and is applying for his fourth loan of KES 100,000, to buy seeds, fertilizer and other farm inputs needed for his business.
Patterson will use the profits made possible by this loan to pay the school fees of his youngest children as well as expand his farming activities.
His goal for the future is to venture into mixed farming with a view of increasing his income so as to help improve his family's living standards.
