Sarah lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with four children and all her children go to school. She takes care of two additional family members (brother and sister). She operates a bar shop that she rents at the market. She operates her business on a retail basis. She has been in business for the last 10 years. She works six days a week.
She has requested a loan of Uganda shillings 2,000,000 from MCDT – SACCO to buy jerrycans of local gin. Her major business challenges are transportation and seasonality. Her goals and aspirations are to buy a delivery van to ease transportation and to buy a plot of land. She lives in a rented house where the family has access to electricity but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses include medication, rent, school fees and food.
