Hawa lives in Margibi County, the largest producing rubber plantation in Liberia. She is 49 years old, married and has six children between the ages of 15 and 19. They all live at home and attend school. Her husband is a Firestone rubber tapper. For the past 10 years, she has been selling palm oil, rice, pepper, etc. in the local market. She spends eight hours at her business six days a week. She is requesting a loan to buy more palm oil, rice, pepper, etc for her business. Her plans are to educate her children and build a house.
