Mrs. Elizabeth is a single mother of two children that go to school. She rents a place with a bedroom and a kitchen, built with bricks and with a wooden floor, and located in the 12 de Octubre area of La Paz.

Elizabeth works for the government of La Paz; she cleans the offices in the morning and delivers documents in the afternoon. At night, she studies and learns how to use software like Excel, Word, etc. Elizabeth works from Monday to Sunday. Her siblings help her at home and her parents take care of her children while she is working. She pays for the utilities, food, clothes and her children’s education.

Elizabeth is requesting a loan to pay for the tuition fee and continue with her studies. This will improve her income and her quality of life. This is the first time she requests a loan to IMPRO and Kiva.

Sra. Elizabeth es soltera y tiene dos hijos dos varones que están en etapa escolar, vive en alquiler donde cuenta con un ambiente y se encuentra el dormitorio y la cocina, la habitación es de ladrillo y el piso de tablones, la casa se encuentra ubicada en la zona 12 de Octubre de la ciudad de La Paz.
Actualmente trabaja de empleada en una de las entidades públicas de la ciudad de La Paz; su trabajo consiste en la limpieza de las oficinas por las mañanas y por las tardes se dedica a la mensajería, por las noches se dedica a estudiar y aprender a manejar paquetes de aplicaciones, como Excel, Word, etc.; ella trabaja todos los días de la semana. En su casa colaboran sus hermanos y sus papas le ayudan al cuidado de sus hijos mientras Elizabeth se va al trabajo. Ella paga los servicios, alimentación, vestimenta, y educación de sus hijos.
El crédito lo requiere para el pago de matrícula y continuar sus estudios, y así poder a mejorar sus ingresos y calidad de vida.
Es la primera vez que solicita crédito junto a IMPRO Y KIVA.

About IMPRO

IMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.

To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
