Every two weeks the association “Amazonas II” meets in the center of Germán Buch, which belongs to Pro-Mujer. With great responsibility they have completed their third year of work together with this organization. The majority of the members are married with large families; such is the case with Mrs. Norita, who has seven children and unfortunately her partner abandoned her and she has become sick. With the help of her children she sells soft drinks, biscuits and a variety of candies in her stall, located in the Ceja area of El Alto, which provides her with a little money that helps provide her family’s daily needs. The central activity of the association is the sale of staple goods in neighborhood stores and different stalls around the city. They need greater capital to acquire a greater quantity and variety of products, making wholesale purchases to generate greater income for the good of their families.
