Sung is a 58-year-old married woman. She lives with her family in Ho Minh City. For the past six years, she and her husband have supported their family by running a business of selling sticky rice in front of their house. Sung would like to get a loan to buy a greater variety of foods such as rice, beans and meat to better meet her customers' needs. She hopes that she will be able to increase her income and set aside some savings with this loan.

Capital Aid Fund for Employment of the Poor (CEP) is a non-profit Vietnamese microfinance institution that operates in the provinces of southeastern Vietnam and the Mekong Delta. CEP's head office is located in Ho Chi Minh City. This institution’s mission is to work with, and for, the poor and poorest to realize sustained improvements in well-being through the provision of financial and complementary non-financial services in an honest, efficient, and sustainable manner.
