She sells salt (wholesale). She displays her products in front of her sales depot. She is also a partner in managing a modern beauty salon. She started these businesses using her own funds which she built up in a tontine (savings association). Later, she was granted a credit loan from Hekima.

She has been running the beauty salon business for 15 years and the wholesale salt business for one year.

This new loan will be used to buy 300 boxes of salt and some equipment for her beauty salon. She wants to increase her capital worth and pursue her children's education.

La cliente Sifa est trésorière du groupe d’affaire Baraka office, entrepreneur, âgée de 43 ans, mariée et mère de 6 enfants qui étudient tous. Son conjoint est un soudeur. La cliente est vendeuse du sel (en gros). Elle installe ses produits devant son dépôt de vente. En plus, elle est sociétaire d’un salon moderne de coiffure. Elle commença ces affaires avec son fonds propre constitue dans une tontine. Plus tard, elle bénéficia le crédit de Hekima. HEKIMA is a microfinance institution headquartered in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), with branch offices in Goma and Bukavu. HEKIMA aims to contribute to the transformation of the economic, social, and spiritual lives of the economically active poor of the DRC. To this end, HEKIMA provides its clients with solidarity group loans to support income-generating activities. Despite ongoing instability and violence in its operating areas, HEKIMA continues to keep its doors open and provide credit and savings services for its over 90% female clientele.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
