Doreen is a married woman age 30 years. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past five years, she has operated a food stall business, selling from home to local neighbors. She faces a major challenge of delayed payments in the future. She dreams of expanding to a café business.
With this loan of 20,000 Kenya shillings (KES), she wants to purchase bundles of wheat flour, rice, maize flour, and sugar. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
