Mwanatumu is a married woman who lives with her husband at their own house that has neither electricity nor piped water.
Mwanatumu has operated a business selling firewood for the past three years. She sells from home to her neighbours and passersby. She mentioned the high cost of transportation to be her major challenge in the business.
With the KES 10,000 she wants to purchase firewood to sell. She dreams of expanding her business to earn more income in the future.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
