Beatrice is a 38-year-old woman from Migori. She is married to Samuel; they have four children, ages 12,10, 6 and 2, respectively.
Beatrice is in the business of selling second-hand bags, a business she has done for the past 13 years, earning a monthly income of KES 26,000.
She has borrowed her fifth loan of KES 60,000 from Kenya Agency for Development of Enterprise and Technology (KADET) and she intends to use this amount to purchase sacks of used handbags to sell.
The profit earned will be used to pay school fees and to repay her loan. Beatrice's dream is to build her own house and to give her children the best education.
