Asha is from Kisauni. She is a divorced mother of six children, all of whom have graduated from school. She works selling fruits and vegetables, in a little shed at the entrance to town.
With sacrifice and dedication she managed to get her six children ahead. She is a very hardworking woman. She says she always has worked and she is not afraid of challenges. Her goal is to continue growing and have a bigger shed, to continue helping her family.
Asha is coming to Yehu Microfinance and to Kiva for a loan. She will use it to buy vegetables, such as tomatoes, green peppers, carrots, and onions, as well as seasonal fruits. The loan will enable her to supply her business with top-quality products to offer to her customers.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
