Elizabeth is from San Vicente, Tambulig, Zamboanga Del Sur. She is 50 years old, married, and has one child. To make a living, she plants and harvests rice for sale. She has been in her business for 16 years and earns 35,000 PHP a month.
In 2008, Elizabeth joined GDMPC. Now she is requesting a loan of 50,000 PHP. She will use it to purchase additional seeds, seedlings, and young crops to raise. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
