Hugues lives in Rendel, in the South Department of Haiti, an area with erratic access to electricity and is also very vulnerable to flooding due to deforestation. He is married and has 12 children in school. He is a community leader and he is the one of our best trustworthy retailers. He has had a store for 5 years that sells mobile phone top-up cards and charges cell phones with an inverter. He has started to sell clean energy products with EarthSpark as clean energy entrepreneur.
He sold out of his products so quickly that he has paid off his loan and is now coming back to us for another loan but he is seeking a loan of 2000 USD to grow up his business because he has many demands in our big solar system as: Powa Pack Jr, SHS 10W, 15W and efficient cook stoves.
With a Kiva loan, Hugues will be set up with a “Business in a Bag”, a kit containing a personalized mix of small-scale clean energy products, marketing materials and training on energy literacy, SMS tracking of sales, and basic business skills.
