Living in Kampong Cham province’s Prey Chhor district, Raksmey is 33 years old and blessed with two little boys. For her family, rice-cropping and bean-growing are the main sources of income; this is the business that she has been with for 11 years.
Raksmey is a third-time client with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She has repaid her past loan with success, and it has helped her to upgrade her lifestyle in good shape. Since she wants to expand her cash-crop growing business, she is seeking a loan to buy a plot of farmland for the upcoming replanting reason for this cycle.
She hopes that she can grow her crops timely and fruitfully, so that she can earn more income to stabilize her living, and also buy more cows for raising.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
