Rachel is 40 years old, married, with four children. She lives in Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental.
To earn a living, she owns and operates a retail business in the local community. She has been in her business for over six years and earns PHP 8,000 every month.
Rachel joined GDMPC in 2011 and now she has requested a loan of PHP 10,000 to purchase additional products to sell, like sugar, coffee, noodles, and canned goods. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
