Ingrid Katherin
Her name is Ingrid, and she lives with her mother. She works during the week and cares for a 4-year old boy with disabilities, and studies during the weekends. Her sister Zharick is a secondary school student, in the seventh grade. The three of them live together. Her mother works to support the three of them and for the upkeep of the house.

Since a young age, she has been very interactive, creative and extravagant. Her hobbies are singing and music, although she doesn't engage much in them due to a lack of time and money. They require a lot of practice and dedication.

Her short-term goals are to finish her studies with good grades so that she can have better possibilities to study at a university or get a job thanks to the opportunity to enroll in a technical training program. She would also like to continue helping her mother at home and her sister with her studies. Her long-term goals are to finish university, learn another language, have some stability with regards to work and money, help her mother out as much as she can, and to be able to travel and know more about what the future holds.

Thank you for taking the time to hear a little about her life and what she wants to do. Thank you also for offering her the opportunity. As the wise saying goes, "an education is never a waste," and you are allowing her studies to be part of her future stability.

More information about this loan

This loan will help a CampoAlto student pay a semester's tuition. With seven branches throughout Bogota, Colombia, CampoAlto tailors educational programs for socially marginalized students. Each of these courses lasts three semesters on average and includes specialized training and internship placement to help students secure jobs after graduation.

This Kiva loan will be used to provide borrowers with needed goods or services, as opposed to cash or financial credit.

About CampoAlto

CampoAlto is a for-profit education institute that offers a variety of classes to students from socially or economically marginalized groups, including women, ethnic minorities, displaced populations, disabled individuals, and those living below the poverty line. Kiva funding is being used to pay tuition for students who couldn’t otherwise afford to attend classes.

Because CampoAlto’s core business is not purely microfinance, there is some level of additional risk for lenders. For this reason, Kiva has not assigned the institute a risk rating.
