Monica Alexandra
This is 19-year-old Monica's story:

Monica wanted to tell us about a time in her life when she thought that it would be impossible to study.

Last year she travelled to a place far away from civilization, to live with her father. She still lives there now. Her objective was to study and to join the national university.

The long-awaited day arrived; she went to the university but she did not pass the admission exam. She had only nine points.

After this she did not give up and applied to study at the Sena public education institute. There she studied basic accounting and some Portuguese for four months. Disappointingly she could not continue her studies as the Sena had problems and terminated an agreement with the Leticia region. So, Monica decided to return to the city to live with her mother and siblings, as there there are more opportunities, the chance to study and one day to become a professional. Now Monica again has the possibility of studying what she really wanted to study - Accounting and Finances. She is now in her first semester.
