Pedro Cesar
Pedro, 34, lives in the city of Chincha, which is known for its warm climate and varied cuisine. Pedro lives with his wife, and together they have a small 4-year old child who they love very much. They work very hard to give their child a decent life and provide him with all of their love and affection.

Pedro works in his small business, making and selling ice cream and sweets. He likes his work a lot, most of all because his customers always return to buy his products because he is so nice to his customers. At times, he also works in construction to earn some extra money for the household expenses. He believes that he is getting ahead because he is responsible, and because he has the greatest motivation to strive to succeed: his son.

Pedro is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, because thanks to the help that they are providing, he will be able to make some improvements to his house. He will be able to make some repairs to his roof and walls, which have some cracks. This way, he will have a more secure home, and will be able to continue to strive to get ahead and make his greatest dream a reality: to finish his house and see his child become a professional.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
