Kaneez Group
In this Group: Kaneez, Zahida, Zahida, Shamim
Kaneez is a 33-year-old hardworking and diligent woman. She lives in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, along with her husband and son. Her husband is a government employee but his salary is very low. Her son is currently studying and it’s very difficult for them to pay for his educational expenses.

Kaneez is a beautician by profession. Since 2005, she has operated her own beauty salon. Currently the beauty stock of the salon is almost depleted. Therefore, Kaneez would like to purchase a variety of new cosmetic products to continue her business.

As a member of a four-person borrowing group, Kaneez has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan to purchase beauty products such as facial creams, lipsticks, scrubs, makeup kits, hair colors and other products. She would also like to buy some new chairs for her salon.

With the profits she earns, she plans to extend her business by opening an additional beauty salon. She dreams of living a happy, healthy and peaceful life with her family. She is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan for their support.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
