Gila usually buys small calves, raises and fattens them for 5-6 months, and then resells them for a profitable price in the livestock bazaar. Her monthly income is 90 AZN, and this business is the only source of financial income in her family. Meat is in very high demand in Azerbaijan, and people use it in everyday dishes, like pilau and dolma. Gila also keeps milking cows for personal use and for selling milk to neighbors.
She wants to expand her business and improve the life conditions of her family. She applied for a loan of 1,500 AZN. She plans to purchase two calves, one milking cow, and fodder, with her loan funds. This will be her third loan, and she has a good credit history.
