Warm greetings. The group “Los Progresistas De Cupiche” is comprised of eight members who put forth effort every day with the sole goal of supporting their families.

Ynes is one of the founders of the group, and she is also the treasurer. She is 42 years old, and she is married and has two children under her care. Currently she weaves cloth from thread and yarn. To improve her skills, she is working as an assistant at one of the shops with which the institution has partnered. She is very good at making the cloths, as evidenced by the many orders she already has.

Her greatest wish is to see her children have professional careers - this is the reason for her hard work. She is seeking a loan so that she can invest in threads and yarn at wholesale quantities, since this is more economical.

The group “Los Progresistas De Cupiche” is grateful for this loan opportunity, since this makes it possible for them to make progress. In the photo, Ynes is the second from the left and is wearing a pink shirt and dark blue pants.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
