Gumercindo
Gumercindo is 38 years old. He is married, has three children, and lives in a community in Gracias, Lempira.

Gumercindo earns his living in agriculture, in the production and sale of coffee, specifically. He sells his coffee dried and in parchment [a thin, papery skin still covering the beans after drying, but prior to roasting] in the local market, and he gets a good price for it. He has been in this business for ten years, and throughout that time, it has generated the income that he needs to sustain his family.

Gumercindo has had three consecutive loans with ODEF, and he is requesting this fourth one to buy fertilizer and to pay for laborers to do farm work. This investment will help him to keep his crops free of disease. His plan for the future is to make money to help him give his children an education.
