Japhet lives in Chogoria, in the Meru region of Eastern Kenya. He is 44 years of age and married with three children, two of whom are in school. He has been a mixed farmer for over twenty years, growing horticultural crops.
Japhet has requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo of KES 40,000 for the purchase of poultry. He wants to have over five thousand poultry birds, both layers and broilers. This will help improve the family's living standards by providing better education for his children.
The major challenges Japhet faces are animal diseases and insufficient funds. He said that he likes Juhudi Kilimo for their quick processing of loans.
