Kifah is a 42-year-old Lebanese widow living with her one parent and one sibling. In 2008, she started running her own shop selling souvenirs and flowers. Her income is important to help with the household expenses since she is the main income provider. She has a wide variety of flowers and decoration accessories. Today, she is asking for a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l to expand her store’s inventory of souvenirs and flowers. Her intention at this stage is to augment her sales to amplify her income. In the future, she is planning to enlarge her business and collect higher revenues.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
