Lolito is 44 years old, married, and has three children. He lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. He owns and operates a copra business in the local community, to earn a living. He has been in this business for over six years and earns 8,000 PHP every month.
He has joined GDMPC this year to gain access to loans for his business. And now he has requested a loan of 10,000 PHP. He will use the loan to purchase additional materials for copra production. He plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of his family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
