Zena lives in Mariakani, Kenya, and is a married mother of three children. She has been running a food cafe for three years after beginning the business with the income she obtained from a previous job.
Zena was introduced to Milango by her friends and is asking for a loan of 52,250 Kenya shillings (KES) to buy food for her cafe such as sugar, baking flour, frying oil and cereals. Despite the high level of bad debts in Kenya, Zena believes the loan will enable her to save extra income for the growth of her business and to provide a living to her employees. She will also use part of the money to open a larger cafe as she looks for other forms of income.
