Salama lives with her partner John, in the town of Kisauni. They both work in retail trade. Salama has a well-stocked store, and she also has a retail shop. In her store she sells vegetables, fruit, consumer staples, drinks and dairy products. She is a self-sacrificing person who works hard each day to get ahead and improve her quality of life.
Salama will use this loan to buy vegetables, fruit etc. She thanks Yehu Microfinance and Kiva for the assistance that she is receiving.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
