Nosheen Group
In this Group: Nosheen, Maryum
Nosheen is a 36 year-old housewife living in Rawalpindi with her husband and three children. Since 2005, her husband has been running a hardware shop. He has been selling the tools for plumbers, electricians, laborers and carpenters. Nosheen has requested a loan from Kiva’s partner, BRAC Pakistan, so that her husband can buy new tools for his shop. The old tools are obsolete and there is no demand for them now. After getting the loan, she will invest the money in her husband's business and he can buy new tools like drill machines, hammers, PVC pipes, joints, wiring, etc. In this way, he can expand his business, and their monthly income can be increased. With the profit amount, Nosheen intends to pay her household expenses. She is looking forward for the bright future of her children. She is very thankful to KIVA and BRAC Pakistan for their support.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
