Mohammad is a 35-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and two school-aged children. He has been working as a van driver since 2001. His main road is between his town and the neighboring villages, transporting students to their schools. His business income is very important as he represents the only income source for his family.
Today, Mohammad is requesting a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l. to perform needed maintenance on his van and pay mechanic fees. He states that these repairs will make his transportation safer and will help him attract more customers. This is his fourth Kiva loan and he hopes to be able to improve his business as well as the family’s financial situation.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
