The Flor de Umacha communal bank will begin its first cycle in Pro Mujer as part of the Achacachi Regional Office. It is comprised of nine members, and it is headed by a board of directors. Flor is the president. The diverse businesses of the members of the communal bank include selling food, selling groceries, selling onions, and selling school supplies.

The loan that they will get will benefit small business people like Flor, who is a member. She says this is the first time she has been a part of Pro Mujer. She joined by invitation from a representative of the institution who went to visit Flor at her house.

She currently has a business selling school materials. She began this business several years ago with the support of her current life partner.

The loan that she will now get is for the improvement of her supplies (she will buy school materials). She will get them at the store in the city of El Alto. She will later sell them at the different fairs in her community. This way of working allows her to generate resources to support her household as much as possible. She is in a common-law marriage, and she has three children.

When she was asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she replied that she likes the trainings about loans and health.

La A.C. “FLOR DE UMACHA” iniciará el primer ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Achacachi, está compuesta por nueve integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Flora es la Presidenta. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: venta de comida, venta de abarrotes, venta de cebolla, venta de materiales escolares.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias donde la señora Flora es integrante, ella indica que es la primera vez que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por invitación de una promotora de la institución que fue a visitarle a su casa. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio venta de material escolar; da a conocer que este negocio lo emprendió hace varios años con el apoyo de su pareja actual.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para el mejoramiento de sus herramientas (compra materiales escolares) que adquirirá de las tiendas de la Ciudad de El Alto y posteriormente lo comercializará en diversas ferias de su comunidad. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para mantener en lo posible a su hogar pues ella vive en unión libre y tiene tres hijos.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta las capacitaciones en crédito y salud.
