Saumu has a posho mill which she uses to grind maize into flour. She says her job is very demanding because she is the only one in the family who works.
Saumu is applying for a 50,000 KES loan from Yehu to invest in various tools such as drills, spanners and fuel. Her dream is to buy a small lathe in order to do other types of work and so progress every day.
About Yehu Microfinance TrustThis loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
