Pedro currently works as an independent taxi driver in the city of La Paz. He earns a daily wage and this is the only form of employment that he has for generating an income. Pedro is the only person who is contributing to the payment of basic services for his family. The loan he is requesting will be used to buy a motor for his vehicle. This will enable him to work more hours so that he can improve his earnings.
Pedro dreams of acquiring a house of his own and improving his quality of life. This is the first time he has requested a loan from IMPRO and Kiva.
Actualmente Pedro trabaja como chofer propietario, de transporte publico (taxi) en la ciudad de la Paz percibiendo un ingreso diario, es la única actividad que tiene y por lo tanto el único ingreso, el es el único que contribuye con el pago de servicios básicos de su familia.
El crédito lo requiere para la compra de un motor para su movilidad y así poder aumentar sus horas de trabajo que realiza y así poder mejorar sus ingresos.
El sueño de Pedro es poder adquirir una casa propia y así mejorar su calidad de vida.

About IMPROIMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.
To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
