Arnelyn is married and has two children. She is 28 years-old and lives in Guba, Clarin, Misamis Occidental. She cultivates mangoes and plants vegetables (particularly eggplant) in order to earn a living and has had this business for seven years. Each month, she earns about PHp8,000 doing this type of work. She has requested a loan of PHp10,000 in order to purchase fertilizers such as manure. She's been a member of Kiva partner GDMPC since 2011. In the future, Arnelyn hopes to improve her business so that she can have her own store.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
