Pilar is from Malibangcao, Ozamis City. She is 69 years old, married, and has ten children.
To make a living, Pilar owns and operates a retail store. She has had her business for five years and earns 7,000 PHP a month from these activities.
In 2009, Pilar joined GDMPC. She is requesting a loan of 10,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase additional products like canned goods, noodles, sugar, and coffee. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
