Genil is 28 years old and married with three children. He lives in Clarin, Misamis Occidental. For the past three years, Genil has owned a retail business in his local community and he earns 3,000 PHP every month. He joined GDMPC in 2010.
Genil is requesting a 5,000 PHP loan to purchase additional products to sell such as coffee, sugar, soap, shampoo, and noodles. He plans to use the additional revenue generated with his loan to improve the general living conditions of his family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
