The community association “ESTRELLITAS” will begin their seventh cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Patacamaya Focal Center. It has eight members and is directed by a board of directors of which Ruth is president. The association's members are involved in various different business activities, which include the sale of chuño (dehydrated potato), potato, corn and other vegetables, the sale of food, the sale of cheese, sewing skirts and pants and potato farming.

The loan will benefit micro-businesswomen of which Ruth is a member. Ruth joined Pro Mujer six months ago when a member of the institution visited her at her home and invited her to join. Currently, Ruth works selling white and black chuño and potatoes. She learned this business from her parents years ago and it is currently her primary source of income.

She will use the loan to increase her capital (buying white and black chuño), which she will purchase from distributor companies. She will then sell the chuño in the city of Oruro. This method of work allows her to generate income to help maintain her household as best she can as she has five children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Ruth answers that she likes the opportunity for loans and the training they offer.

La A.C. “ESTRELLITAS” iniciará el séptimo ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Patacamaya, está compuesta por ocho integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Ruth es la Presidenta. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: venta de chuño, papa, maíz y hortalizas, venta de comida, venta de queso, costura de polleras y pantalones, producción de papa.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias donde la señora Ruth es integrante, ella indica que hace seis meses que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por invitación de una promotora de la institución que fue a visitarle a su casa. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de venta de chuño y tunta (papa deshidratada) y papa; da a conocer que este negocio lo aprendió de sus padres hace años y en la actualidad trabaja con este negocio para generar recursos económicos.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para el aumento de capital (compra de chuño y tunta) que adquirirá de las empresas distribuidoras y posteriormente lo comercializará en su la ciudad de Oruro. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para mantener en lo posible a su hogar pues ella vive en concubinato y tiene cinco hijos.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta el crédito y la capacitación.
