Jamale is a 55-year-old Lebanese married woman. She lives with her only working child. She’s a friendly and above all, hardworking woman. And since she’s the one responsible for covering the family expenses, she started her own business in 2003. She’s well known in her area and works from home. She possesses residences and stores and receives the monthly rental charges for them. In order to provide the family with extra financial support, her husband works outside the country. With her requested loan from Kiva Partner Vitas s.a.l, she will renovate an apartment that will be rented soon. She is very optimistic and ambitious to open her own rental office as soon as she can, hoping to attract additional customers and enhance her family’s way of living.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
