Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Anastacia's story

Anastacia is 43 years old. She is married to Paulino and together they have six children. They live in their own house. Twenty-two years ago they began working in agriculture, sowing peas and all varieties of potatoes. She tells us that they have different bits of land around the town. Mid-year Anastacia goes to Lima to sell her products at a better price. They also have livestock which they use to help plough the land. Anastacia does all this work with the help of her husband as recently they started selling foods such as rice, sugar, milk and eggs. This will be Anastacia's ninth loan with Kiva and she gives her word that she will make her repayments on time.

Anastacia will invest the 3900 Nuevo Soles to buy school materials for the term, seeds and various products to sell in her store.
