A loan of $775 helped to pay for school costs for his son.

Cesar Augusto's story

Cesar is 41 years old and lives in Guadalupe in Chiclayo. He has an eight year old son whom he loves and who is his main reason for living. Cesar is very friendly, hard-working and enthusiastic and puts all his efforts into making his son prosper. Thanks to the efforts and support of his own parents, Cesar was able to study law. In his spare time he likes to go out into the country with his boy and, on occasion, he cooks a delicious "tallarines" (a spaghetti dish from Peru) to share with his family.

With his own initiative and with a lot of determination and dedication, Cesar now works as a manager at an education centre in the city. In addition, in the afternoon he gives private classes in language and literature. Teaching is what Cesar was born to do and he thinks this, along with his sense of responsibility, is why it's going so well.

Cesar is very grateful to Kiva lenders as, thanks to the support provided, he will be able to cover the costs of his son's education. The costs including buying uniforms and school materials and with this loan his son will have all the necessary items to undertake his studies. And Cesar will continue working and putting in the effort so he can achieve his big dream of starting a school where poor children can come for an education.
