Phylisia lives in the Mombasa area of Coast Province, Kenya. She is married and has three children, although only two are in school. She owns a retail shop, a business which has been running for three years. In the business, she sells household goods and other items. She currently does this through hawking.
She learned about Milango through friends who invited her to the group and she joined with the aim of accessing credit to improve her business operations. Her main challenges are bad debts and exhaustion from walking long distances.
Phylisia is applying for a loan of 41,850 Kenyan shillings to buy retail stock like utensils, toothpaste, toys, etc. The extra income from the loan will be added to her savings to improve the living standard of her family and pay school fees for her children. She aspires to open a shop with a fixed location.
