Update on Nancy

LA SEÑORITA NANCY, es una persona de 20 años de edad, de estado civil soltera, actualmente se encuentra cursando una carrera universitaria, vive junto a sus padres y no cuenta con dependientes económicos a cargo. La actividad económica de Nancy es la agricultora, trabaja junto a sus padres y en los terrenos agrícolas de los mismos producen papa, haba, arveja, maíz y cebada en la comunidad de Plano Bajo – Tíraque, que se halla situado a unos 65 Km. desde la ciudad de Cochabamba. Nancy y sus padres manifiestan tener ganas de seguir mejorando su producción agrícola y para tal efecto se ven en la necesidad de solicitar capital de inversión para la compra de abono de gallinaza que les permitirá un mejor rendimiento en su producción agrícola, así mismo realizan la compra de dos ganados bovinos de engorde que a futuro les permitirá obtener ingresos económicos adicionales.

CIDRE is a Bolivian microfinance institution with a strong social commitment to the community. It works to provide quality financial services to rural and peri-urban borrowers, focusing primarily on agricultural loans for dairy farmers and micro-enterprises. CIDRE targets segments of the population that have not traditionally had access to credit, and invests in much-needed community development projects. Concurrent and Successive Loans

Our Field Partners often work with borrowers over a series of loans as the borrowers build credit, take out bigger loans, and expand their businesses. In order to make it easier for our Field Partners to post loans for borrowers who have been listed on Kiva before, we allow them to post successive and concurrent loans for their Kiva borrowers. This means that our Field Partners are able to post a borrower's second, third, etc., loan on Kiva without having to re-enter all of the borrower's information.

Most borrowers take out loans consecutively, meaning that they receive a second loan after having repaid the first. However, sometimes our Field Partners give out concurrent loans, allowing borrowers to take out one primary loan and a secondary "add-on" loan along with it. These "add-on" loans are typically smaller than the borrower's primary loan and serve a different purpose. Because Field Partners can now post loans as successive and concurrent loans, you will be able to track borrower progress over time and see the various ways a borrower is working with our Field Partners through funds from Kiva’s lenders.
