Resty is a single mother of five children and none of them goes to school. She takes care of additional family members (her grandchildren). She has a business selling charcoal and has been in this business for two years. She has applied for loan of 1,000,000 Uganda shillings to buy more bags of charcoal. Besides this charcoal business she also generates additional income from rental rooms.
Resty works from her home seven days out of every week. Her major business challenges include seasonality, thieves and defaulters. She is aspiring of becoming a wholesaler and also of building more rental rooms. She resides in her own house and the family has no access to electricity or piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees for her grandchildren.
