Virginia is a 55-year old woman, married and mother of two children, who are already independent. She's from the municipality of El Sauce, located 90km away from the department of León.
She's been teaching in primary education at a school in her town for 25 years and has had a tough life because for a long time she had to rent a house. She didn't have one of her own, but thanks to the unconditional support from Kiva through Ceprodel she was able to buy a patio where she started to build her home. She's been making improvements little by little and her dream is to have a house with all the appropriate conditions.
She's now requesting a loan to buy cement, sand and gravel that she'll use to plaster and tile, given that there is still soil as floor. She feels very grateful to Kiva and Ceprodel for the financing as it has improved her quality of life. She trusts that God will keep supporting her to finish her house.

This loan is administered by Centro de Promocion del Desarrollo Local (CEPRODEL), one of Kiva’s larger partners in Central America. Founded in 1991 and based in Managua, Nicaragua, CEPRODEL specializes in the development and funding of housing cooperatives for traditionally marginalized communities, the provision of microfinance services to small businesses, and the promotion of innovative renewable energy projects. In addition, unlike many microfinance institutions in the area that have chosen to avoid the rural areas of the country due to the increased financial risk, CEPRODEL provides financial services to numerous clients in the agriculture and livestock industry. Supporting a borrower through CEPRODEL means contributing to the promotion and sustainability of this important work in Nicaragua.
