The A.C. "LAS OBRERAS" will start its forth cycle in Pro Mujer as part of the Centro Focal de Villa Adela. The group is made of 8 members and led by a managing team, where Jhenny is the Treasurer. There are different businesses represented in the communal association: wholesale of sport footwear, transportation services, catalog sale, mechanic garage, grocery store, food retail, clothing store and hair salon.

The requested loan will benefit small micro-entrepreneurs like Jhenny. She has been part of Pro Mujer for 1 year, when a friend invited her. She currently owns a business selling cosmetics, something that she learned from her older sister 3 years ago, and works to improve it. She will use the loan to increase her assets by buying cosmetics in bulk from her suppliers that she will then sell in her store. This is how she makes a living and supports her family (she's married and has a son).

When asked about Pro Mujer and why she likes it, she replies that she likes its capabilities in the health arena.

Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para mantener en lo posible a su hogar pues ella es casada y tiene un hijo.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta las capacitaciones del área de salud.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
